As promised, we begin the countdown to London Wine Fair 2019 this week with the first batch of our vegan offering!
To ease you in on this sleepy Monday, we’ll be starting with a few light, animal-free whites, accompanied with some healthy food matches, before moving on to something weightier next week.
Kicking off with our lighter-than-light Vinho Verde. With its gentle balance of fresh lemon and white flowers, thiswine would be the perfect match for an equally light and vegan-friendly buddha bowl, full of grains and avocado.
Next, it’s a quick trip over the Atlantic to Argentina for Viniterra’s zippy Terra Torrontes. With its refreshing acidity and aromatic bouquet, this wine would be stunning with a similarly vegan (although somewhat removed geographically), spicy Thai green curry.
Back to the old world now for Carminucci’s feisty and full-bodied Pecorino, packed with a striking complexity of bananas, pineapple and green apples. Sadly, the traditional accompaniment of Pecorino cheese won’t be on the menu for our vegan friends, so for them, we’d recommend a hearty, well-seasoned veggie tray bake.
Hopefully that’s whet your appetites enough for one day. If you can’t wait until next month to try these wines at London Wine Fair, then as always, you can contact our sales team to arrange a tipple.
