Hospitality around the UK is starting to open up even further which means more of us will be planning staycations; meeting up to celebrate with family and friends; or just simply rocking up to our local for a glass of our favourite tipple. If there has ever been a time to push the boat out, surely this is it. A celebration isn’t a celebration without Champagne!
According to Andrew Hawes, director of the UK Champagne Agents Association, August 2020 was the “best August for Champagne sales in the UK off-trade since records began” despite forecasts for quite the opposite given the situation. An article in the Drinks Business also adds that “Brits bought more and better Champagne from retailers than last year”.
Clearly all signs suggest that if last year was a good year for Champagne, this one will be even better. So with that in mind, may we introduce you to our house champagnes – a Brut and Rosé Premier Cru, made by sixth generation family growers: a proper grower offering. Both use the classic blend of the three grapes in Champagnes. They are real crowd pleasers and offer something beyond the run of the mill labels.
