Jean-Paul Morel

Jean-Paul Morel is head of the cooperative in the Grand Cru village of Verzenay. He describes himself as first and foremost a farmer, as his true passion is tending the vines.

Jean-Paul has spent several months in Australia teaching the winemakers there how to get the best out of their grapes and how to make sparkling wine. With all his experience and knowledge to pass on, Jean-Paul only produces a small amount of champagne himself. He sells the rest of his crop to the large Grande Marque Houses. In his own words, the champagne he makes is for the product and not the money.  Champagnes from Jean-Paul Morel are rich in style with great balance between red fruit notes and toastiness.
