It’s been a busy Summer at Wine Rascal HQ as we’ve brought you reports on Champagne, Prosecco, Rosé, Malbec, Grüner Veltliner, Vinho Verde, Whites from Canada, a stunning red from Canada and NEW wines from Greece.
Now, as we welcome the Autumn season, here are 2 Wines from California that are sure to bring some of that West Coast warmth to your heart as the weather begins to cool.
Before we wax on about our Californian Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, we thought we’d just throw you a quote from Harper’s Mag about those very wines…
“With Burgundy prices sky high, it’s been California Pinot Noir and Chardonnay that have been making waves, with interest growing“… […among young people particularly in the UK.]
Isn’t that convenient! Without further ado, here are two of the aforementioned wines, coming in at a very friendly price point which, combined with their very approachable, fruit forward flavours (and screw cap) make them a perfect choice for a by-the-glass offering.
First up is Pinot Noir.
Just what anyone would want from a Californian PN; juicy raspberry and black cherry notes with silky smooth tannins and a nice finish. This wine is a great match for food while also delightful on its own.
And now the Chardonnay,
A delicious wash of pineapple, banana and ripe peach make this Chardonnay a real crowd pleaser amongst its more savoury peers.
